FAQs
-
What services do you offer?I can either play along to backing tracks played on my PA speakers (usually a specially curated Spotify playlist of your favourite song requests). These songs can also be instrumental versions on special request. I can also DJ at the same time as playing Sax! This option can be cheaper than getting a DJ and a Sax player separately and easier to organise too! If you have already booked a DJ, I'm more than happy to perform alongside them too, plugging in to their system so my Sax comes through their speakers.
-
How much do you charge/ what's your hourly rate?I have 3x packages, Sax with backing tracks, (from £280), Sax with your pre-booked DJ (from £265), and my Sax and DJing package (from £400). My quotes also depend on the event type, day, month, location, and length of set(s). If you can fill out my short booking form here I'll send you through a few competitive quotes bespoke to your needs either today or tomorrow!

What equipment do you bring? The Sax and Backing Tracks package includes a speaker stack (an HK Polar 12), as well as my wireless mic system to level my Sax with the music. If I perform alongside your pre-booked DJ I simply bring my Sax with my wireless mic system and plug into their system (with their permission of course!). Lastly, if you would like me to Mix and perform Sax at the same time, I bring my wireless mic system, two HK Polar 12 speaker stacks, a DJ booth and DJ controller (a Denon Prime 4), as well as lighting (a Chauvet gig bar Move). This setup works great for almost all indoor and outdoor spaces and up to 300 people.

What areas do you cover?I'm happy to travel nationwide and abroad but I'm based in Colchester, Essex and travel expenses are calculated from there, all included in the price of my quotes. To get an accurate quote based on your location: head over to my short 2 minute booking form and I can send you an accurate quote either later today or tomorrow. I look forward to hearing from you!

How long can you play for?Unlike many Sax players I don't have set packages, preferring to base my quotes on the bespoke needs of each client. You are welcome to select a few length of performance times on my booking form and I'll be happy to quote you for each one. Those times can be split into different sets across the day, so 3x hours of performing time can be 3x 60 minute sets spread across the day, I don't charge for breaks between sets, however long! I can play for up to 3x hours straight through, or up to 5x hours split up across the day.

I would like to book you for my wedding, what parts of the day can I book you for?I can play during: - your guests welcome (before the ceremony), - the ceremony (bride entrance, registration background music and exit music), - during your wedding reception drinks (directly after the ceremony), - your wedding breakfast (the meal), - after your wedding breakfast but before the party, - as well as alongside your DJ at the wedding party. On the booking form, you can select one of these options for the drop down, or, if you would like me to play during two or more of these sections, simply select "Wedding". If you do want me to play during two or more sections, I only charge for performance time so if you wanted 30x minutes during the guests welcome and then 2x 45 minute sets with your DJ at the Wedding Party, that's the same as just 2x hours! I don’t charge for breaks in between, however long! If you have any questions about this you're more than welcome to email or call me, details found here. I can also DJ and perform Sax at the same time and can offer competitive quotes compared with booking a DJ and a Sax player separately. This option can be found on the booking form too, you're more than welcome to get in touch to discuss this if you have any questions!

How do I book you?If you could fill out my short booking form here, I'll be able to provide you with some accurate quotes via email either later today or tomorrow. If you would like to proceed at that point, I'll send through a link to pay the deposit (usually £50) which confirms the booking. Let me know if I'm unavailable on the calendar and I'll be able to provide you with a few replacements. More than happy to help if you have any questions too!
-
I want to book you to play alongside my DJ, how does that work?Unlike some other Sax players, I can play proficiently by ear along to anything your DJ plays! This means that I don't bring my own playlist to plug into their system, and don't ask the DJ to play songs exclusively from my song lists, they're free to play whatever they like, as well as any of your requests! All I require is a jack input into their system so my Sax can be amplified and heard through the speakers over the mix. If you or your DJ would like more information about this, click here! If you have any questions about this please get in touch and I'll be happy to help!

Do you have personal liability insurance and PAT tested equipment?I have personal liability insurance from the Musician's Union for up to £10m and PAT test all the equipment I use yearly. You can view and download both of these certificates for your venue here. Please note that these renew yearly, so the current download might be out of date by the time of your future event.
